They exist – these places where you feel at home from the first moment like a bear in a honey jar. Where everything is just right, the interior, the atmosphere, the service, the music, the food – and of course the vino. With Deny at Pavarotti’s it was love at first sight. Italianità at its best with a host who seems to simply love people and conviviality. Along with watches, wine and good food, of course. He has combined everything in his restaurant. The whole family helps out, his wife cooks on the open stove, his son serves wine, together they join in with the well-known Italian songs, and if you’re lucky enough to catch a good evening, you’ll experience a Pavarotti in top form. But Deny also exists in the quieter version, when he sits down at the table with his guests, fills a bulbous glass with red wine and begins to discuss God and the world. What he always radiates in the process: Warmth, cordiality and the joy of being a host.

With wine, Franciacorta and co. there is the finest Parma ham with melon, antipasti plates with cheese and spicy salami, fine pasta dishes (the truffle pasta is legendary!) or a carpaccio. The homemade tiramisu for dessert is a must for many connoisseurs at Pavarotti’s and must somehow still have room somewhere in the stomach. We like the attention to detail and the positive charisma of the entire brigade. The fact that top wines are also available by the glass during the high season is also commendable. If you’re in St. Moritz and haven’t been to Deny’s – you’ve definitely missed out….
