We admit it: We are big fans of Badutt’s Palace and love the charm of the hotel lobby and “Le Grand Hall”. Guests and locals (at least before Covid) meet here, a scent of the wide world is in the air, but also the impressive history of the founding family Badrutt. We like to come here for aperitifs and enjoy the musical setting (piano players or, in winter, sometimes a live band) and the refined service. A highlight, however, is undoubtedly the afternoon tea: the fine tableware, the carefully filled étagère with small sandwiches and pastries, plus warm scones with clotted cream and jam, this is the place to linger.

If the weather cooperates, outside on the terrace is uncovered, it has already happened more than once that we have forgotten the time and immediately stayed for dinner. A burger, asking how you want the meat roasted in it (rare/medium/well done), the obligatory club sandwich or vital things like summer salads or a grilled fish fillet on Mediterranean vegetables – the dishes have their price, but are always worth the experience and the view of the lake. Especially because we have never been disappointed so far and the plates are also visually great. Another plus: The warm dishes are served together with a silver hood and only presented in front of the guest. And as a big gelato fan, we like to end the evening with homemade ice cream, such as a yuzu or a white peach sorbet. By the way, these are also available during the day from 12 to 6 p.m. at Gelateria Palace on Via Serlas.
