The Pizzeria Heuboden in the Chesa Veglia is always well frequented. It is a hotspot because the ambience in the time-honored patrician house alone is fascinating. Then there are the pizza makers who go about their work at the wood-burning oven in front of the guests, the children watch with wide eyes when the pizzaiolos push the topped dough into the oven with their shovels. But also the authentic food is worth a visit, although last time we opted for the lasagna (vegetarian). Fine! During our visit, the service is nimble, charming and exudes Italianità. Many families eat here with their children, because it is uncomplicated and lively. In the same building there are two other restaurants, the Patrizier Stube with high quality Grisons cuisine. It has a unique summer terrace with a view of Lake St. Moritz. A jewel!
We have also visited the grill restaurant “Chadafö” on the 2nd floor. It is currently on summer break, but the anticipation for the reopening is great: Gueridor service, piano music and a wonderful Chateaubriand, with the plates being arranged in front of the guest. With rosemary potatoes, spinach and carrots, and of course the obligatory Sauce Bernaise may not be missing. Also a (taste) experience is the lobster salad for starters: The lukewarm lobster is skillfully taken apart in front of the guest and placed in fine pieces on a bed of lettuce. Some vinaigrette over it – and ready is the really quite great starter. For dessert, there is a lime sorbet, friandise, a good sip of red wine and classics from the piano player. And if you need a last drink – there is also a bar in the house, a small one, but a very fine one!
